BIOGRAPHICAL STATEMENT

After growing up on the Rocky Mountain Front in Colorado, Brett Svetlik relocated to Missoula to pursue his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at The University of Montana. Four years of academics and studio practice has led him towards his BFA Degree, which he has recently received in the spring of 2007. Brett has been an active member in the surrounding art community since his student enrollment at The University of Montana in 2003. As an Art Gallery Attendant, Museum Volunteer and as the Director of the University Center Gallery, Brett has immersed himself within the Fine Arts. Brett works in various mediums that incorporate both conceptual and representational imagery. His current works deal with representational imagery and symbolism that is humorous, yet presents tragedy and sorrow.
